Prince Charles Street
Three townhouses on one site at 35 Prince Charles Street, Clayton, one of three Sun Homes multi-dwelling sites in the same suburb.
The problem.
Three dwellings behind one street frontage, reached off a shared driveway. The front dwelling addresses the street and the others sit behind it, so access, services and the driveway base have to be in before the rear dwellings can be built and finished.
The approach.
The three dwellings were programmed as one job rather than three, with shared services and access resolved once. The brick base and rendered upper level are carried across all three so the development reads as one building from the street.
The outcome.
Three townhouses delivered for Mercator Developments, one of six sites the developer built with Sun Homes. Clayton has more multi-dwelling sites on the record than any other suburb, with four-townhouse developments at 36 and 42 Edinburgh Street alongside this one.
