The problem.
Four dwellings on one lot is not one house repeated. Shared services, party wall construction, staged trade fronts, access and separate titles all have to be planned as a single sequence rather than four builds running side by side.
The approach.
The site was programmed as one job rather than four, so shared services, access and party walls were resolved once and the trades moved through the dwellings in sequence rather than competing for a tight site.
Built to One Design Office documentation. Mixed brick, render and stone frontages give each dwelling its own street presence while the construction behind them stays repeatable.
The outcome.
Four townhouses delivered on separate titles for Mercator Developments, the first of six sites Sun Homes built for the same developer: Coane Street, 36 and 42 Edinburgh Street, Prince Charles Street, Oakes Avenue and Eulinga Road.
