Edinburgh Street
Four townhouses at 42 Edinburgh Street, Clayton, one of two Sun Homes developments on the same street.
The problem.
A second four-townhouse site on the same Clayton street as the first, for the same developer and the same design office. The expectation on a repeat site is that what worked the first time is repeated, and what did not is fixed before it is priced.
The approach.
Sun Homes built at 36 Edinburgh Street and then at 42, both documented by One Design Office for Mercator Developments, carrying the site knowledge across: services, access, council conditions and the trade sequence were already understood.
Timber joinery, full-height glazing to the living areas and a restrained external palette carried across all four dwellings.
The outcome.
Four townhouses delivered. Mercator Developments went on to build six sites with Sun Homes in all, and the pattern repeats across the record: twenty-five projects were work for a client who had already built with Sun Homes and came back for the next lot.
